This is a long-standing tradition among the villagers. In the past, when the fields were planted with a lot of dry rice or other crops like peanuts and sesame, there were many quail. Nowadays, the villagers mainly grow short-term industrial crops such as sugarcane and cassava, so the number of quail in the fields has decreased. Hunting these birds has negatively impacted the environment.
