In 2014, the Agriculture and Rural Development sector carried out its tasks under many difficult conditions due to unusual weather conditions, drought, pests and diseases... However, thanks to the efforts of the authorities and farmers, agricultural production achieved remarkable results, the basic targets met and exceeded the set plan. The growth rate of production value reached 4.51%; 33 communes/plan, 14 communes met the new rural standards; the economic structure within the sector continued to shift in the right direction. In agriculture, there continued to be a positive shift, the proportion of crop cultivation gradually decreased while the proportion of livestock and services increased significantly. In particular, food output reached 1,203,000 tons - the highest ever. Production structure and crop seasons have been adjusted towards increasing added value and economic efficiency, adapting to climate change, productivity, quality and output of many crops and livestock have increased significantly, reaching the highest level ever.

Irrigation, dyke and flood control work are ensured, adaptation to climate change is ensured, public investment capital is managed more closely. The national target program on new rural construction and other rural development programs continue to be strongly implemented, contributing to changing the face of the countryside as well as helping people escape poverty sustainably.

After listening to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the opinions of the localities, and giving a speech at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong acknowledged the outstanding results that the Agriculture and Rural Development sector had achieved in 2014. In 2015, the sector needs to set the goal of continuing to build a comprehensively developed agriculture in a modern and sustainable direction; large-scale commodity production; applying science and technology to increase productivity, quality and competitiveness.

In the 2015 mission, the industry strives for a production value of 28,309 billion VND, a total grain output of 1,204,500 tons; a total export value of 180 million USD; 54 communes meeting the NTM standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting the NTM standards to 87 (reaching 20% ​​of the total number of communes in the province).... To achieve these targets, it is necessary to strongly implement restructuring, build a high-quality, high-value-added and effective agriculture; continue to prioritize directing and mobilizing resources for rural development, focusing on implementing the National Target Program on building NTM, hunger eradication, poverty reduction and social security; develop agricultural and rural infrastructure, improve capacity for disaster prevention and mitigation. At the same time, strengthen research, transfer and application of scientific and technological advances and advanced technologies in production; Strengthen and improve the efficiency of agricultural material quality management and food safety and hygiene. In particular, the industry needs to have solutions to proactively and actively integrate internationally to attract foreign investment, develop markets and promote agricultural exports...
