Vietnam's automobile market output in 2012 decreased by 33% compared to the same period in 2011.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung HairequestThe Ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade, based on their functions and tasks as prescribed, review issues related to Vietnam's current automobile industry and propose solutions to the Prime Minister.

Under the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, issues related to Vietnam's automobile industry currently need to be reviewed, such as policies on taxes, fees, customs; management of automobile imports, origin of imported automobile components...

This task was assigned by the Deputy Prime Minister to relevant Ministries to be carried out and completed before October 20, 2012.

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association, the Vietnamese automobile market has grown steadily since 2006, however, since 2010, the market has begun to decline rapidly. And especially in 2012, by the end of August 2012, the total market output reached more than 64.5 thousand vehicles, down 33% compared to the same period last year.

According to researchers, the recent decline in the auto market is partly due to fluctuations in tax and fee policies.

Many opinions say that if the Vietnamese automobile market wants to develop, it needs to have a stable and synchronous policy on the automobile industry...
