The Ministry of Education and Training said that this year's university entrance exam will prioritize basic knowledge, application and practice of candidates. The content of the exam is within the scope of the current high school program, mainly grade 12. The exam must not be too difficult, too complicated, not puzzling for candidates, not going beyond the high school program, not including reduced or cut sections. The exam has easy sections for average candidates to do, relatively difficult sections for good candidates and difficult questions for excellent candidates to classify candidates.

Hoai Nam, a candidate from Yen Thanh district, who took the entrance exam to Vinh Medical University, said that he woke up at 5am, tried to walk around his relative's house for a while, ate sticky rice with beans and went to the exam site with his brother. "I determined to be comfortable, trying to pass the minimum score so that if I don't pass this wish, I will have another wish."
An examination room of the Faculty of Economic Law, University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City was crowded with candidates and each table had up to 3 candidates.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has a large number of absent candidates.
According to our observations at exam locations such as Vinh University, Phan Boi Chau High School, Huynh Thuc Khang High School, candidates and parents were quite relaxed. At 6:30 a.m., after taking their children to the exam site, many parents also found refreshment shops to wait for their children and chat. While some parents were very confident that their children would be admitted to top universities, many others also confided that their children's academic performance was average, but because of the 12 years of studying, they tried to let their children take the exam to satisfy themselves. If they did not pass the university entrance exam, they would send their children to vocational school or work abroad.
Student volunteers continue to set up human fences to relieve traffic congestion and help candidates cross the street safely at the gate of Vinh University.
On the morning of July 4, volunteer teams of the exam support program continued to operate around exam sites and intersections to work with the police force to maintain traffic order and avoid congestion. At the Vinh University exam site, volunteers were busy preparing free meals and drinks to distribute to candidates.
