On the morning of the 4th day of Tet, Hanoi had 1 Covid-19 case who was an immigrant.
On the morning of the 4th day of Tet, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control announced that there was 1 new case of Covid-19 recorded in Hanoi, an immigrant.
Number of cases in Vietnam:
- As of 6am on February 15: Vietnam has a total of 1,330 casesinfected with Covid-19due to domestic infection, of which the number of new cases from January 27 to present: 637 cases.
- From 6:00 p.m. on February 14 to 6:00 a.m. on February 15: 1 new case is an imported case that was quarantined immediately.
New case information: 1 new case (Patient 2229) is an imported case. Specifically:
- Case 2229 (BN2229): male, 54 years old, Japanese nationality, expert of Mitsui Co., Ltd., Vietnam. The patient entered Vietnam to work on January 17, 2021 at Tan Son Nhat Airport.
After entering the country, the patient was quarantined in Ward 2, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City from January 17-31, and tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 twice (on January 17 and 31).

At around 7pm on February 13, the patient was found dead in his hotel room. The results of the test on February 14 showed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The cause of death is under investigation.
Regarding this case, according to the report of the Hanoi Department of Health, through preliminary investigation, the authorities have collected 296 samples for testing, of which 210 samples are guests and 86 samples are hotel staff. The Department of Health has directed the Hanoi CDC to coordinate with the Tay Ho District Medical Center and Quang An Medical Center to block off the hotel where the expert stayed, conduct an investigation, and disinfect the area and the surrounding environment.
