No new cases of nCoV infection this morning
The Ministry of Health on the morning of July 28 recorded no new positive cases of nCoV, 66 people are being treated, of which 61 people tested positive.
Thus, in the past 4 days, 15 cases of community infection with nCoV were recorded. Da Nang alone recorded 14 cases, including 4 medical staff including 1 doctor, 2 nurses, 1 caretaker of Da Nang Hospital. Quang Ngai had 1 case who had come to take care of a patient at Da Nang Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.
This morning, a group of 4 doctors from the Tropical Diseases Hospital set off.went to Equatorial Guinea to pick up 219 citizens, including120 people infected with nCoV. Doctor Than Manh Hung, Head of the medical team, said, "we have prepared for the worst case scenario,ready to be infected".

The total number of infected cases is 431, of which 365 have recovered. The patients are being treated, of which 2 tested negative once, 3 tested negative twice, and 61 tested positive.
Two critically ill patients, 416 and 418, both in Da Nang, have underlying diseases and require ECMO intervention and mechanical ventilation. Yesterday, experts consulted and proposed a treatment plan for them. "Patient 418" is considered more severe than case 416 due to his old age and underlying diseases of high blood pressure, diabetes for many years, and kidney damage. Doctors are considering ECMO intervention.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced the results of analyzing the nCoV gene source from Covid-19 patients in Da Nang, showing that this is a new virus strain that has appeared in Vietnam. This strain has the characteristic of spreading faster than previously recorded strains. However, there is no basis to determine that the virulence of this virus has increased compared to previous strains.
Since the source of the infection in Da Nang has not been determined, Vietnam is accelerating nCoV testing to quickly detect outbreaks, promptly isolate and thoroughly contain the outbreak. The testing will be conducted on test kits produced in Vietnam.
Currently, the country has 118 laboratories with testing capacity, of which 66 are capable of confirmatory testing. The maximum testing capacity is about 31,000 specimens per day.
More than 15,000 people who had close contact with or entered the country from epidemic areas were quarantined. Of these, 322 people were quarantined at hospitals, more than 11,000 at centralized facilities, and the rest at home or at their place of residence.
The world has recorded about 655,000 deaths from more than 16.6 million infections in 213 countries. The US and Brazil are the two countries with the highest number of cases and deaths in the world. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia recorded the highest number of cases and deaths.
Vietnam has not recorded any deaths due to nCoV.
