Vietnamese stars pay big to sing for entertainment at weddings?

With sky-high salaries, sometimes up to nearly half a billion VND, top V-pop singers do not hesitate to appear at the weddings of rich families.

Recently, the Ca Mau tycoon - Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phu Cuong Group, made the public stir when he spent 11 billion VND to organize his daughter's wedding. On the afternoon of January 9, Mr. Cuong's family began welcoming guests to congratulate his daughter's wedding. Artist groups from Ho Chi Minh City also came to Mr. Cuong's love island to prepare for performances at the group party that evening.

"The cost of having artists come to entertain is more than 2 billion VND. Adding these two costs together is over 11 billion VND, equal to 3 days' revenue of a company in Kien Giang," Mr. Cuong affirmed.

According to the bride's family, several famous singers from Ho Chi Minh City will participate in two nights of entertainment at the wedding party. "The cost for each of these singers is 8,000-15,000 USD after the two nights of entertainment, but one of them gave the money as a wedding gift to Ngoc Mai," revealed Mr. Chau Thanh Han, Deputy General Director of Phu Cuong Group.

Previously, on December 22, 2015, seafood tycoon Le Thanh Bach (55 years old) also held a grand wedding for his eldest son Le Ly Huy Vu (27 years old). It is known that the homeowner also spent over 200 million VND on more than 10 singers.

It can be said that with sky-high salaries, sometimes worth up to half a billion VND for top artists in the entertainment industry, appearing at the weddings of rich families is nothing to worry about for them.

In early 2012, Mr. Dam caused a stir in the public when he was invited to sing at the super luxurious wedding of the son of a Ha Tinh tycoon with a huge salary. Accordingly, the "King of Tricks" was paid up to 20,000 USD (about more than 400 million VND) to appear and provide entertainment at the wedding.

He also agreed to sing unlimitedly upon request from the guests present at the party. This figure was revealed to startle many audiences because they were sometimes not used to the figure of hundreds of millions for performing a few songs.

Just like Mr. Dam, at the wedding of a tycoon in Ha Tinh, Quang Le was also paid a huge salary of over 400 million VND.

Later, Quang Le shared about the huge salary he received at the wedding of the son of a Ha Tinh female tycoon: "I do not have a close relationship with the groom's family but was invited to the wedding through the manager of singer Phi Nhung. This guy called the US and said that a wedding wanted to invite me to sing with a salary 3-4 times higher than singing in Vietnam and 5 times higher than singing in the US."

In early 2015, singer Quang Ha also surprised everyone when he revealed a fee of up to 450 million VND to sing at a birthday party and 10th wedding anniversary of a wealthy couple in Thai Binh. According to the contract, Quang Ha was to sing 10 songs, but because the audience was so enthusiastic, the singer sang 20 songs in a row.

Singer Phi Nhung is one of the singers who often accepts to sing at weddings. According to Phi Nhung, the normal salary for singing is about 3,000 USD, the wedding fee is a little higher, about 4,000 - 5,000 USD (around 100 million VND).

In August 2015, the singer of "Dien dien flower" also performed at a tycoon's wedding with a salary of up to thousands of dollars.

Accordingly, the young tycoon - the groom confirmed that he personally gave singer Phi Nhung's manager a salary of 12,000 USD and Quach Tuan Du's manager a salary of 4,000 USD. In addition, he also revealed that Quang Le was also on the list of singers that his family loved and invited to sing at the wedding. The salary that his family planned to pay the singer of "Dap Bo Cay Gu" was 12,000 USD. However, due to the sudden scandal with Mr. Dam, Quang Le refused the invitation and hurriedly returned to the US.
