Construction site collapses, 8 people injured

Workers were pouring the floor of a temple when it suddenly collapsed, injuring eight people.

On the morning of August 29, Tien Giang Provincial Police coordinated with Cho Gao District Police to conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the roof collapse during construction that injured 8 people in Cho Gao Town, Cho Gao District.

Construction work at Kim Linh Pagoda

According to initial information, on the morning of August 29, workers were pouring a floor covering an area of ​​about 70 square meters when the floor suddenly collapsed. At the scene, 8 people were confirmed injured and were taken to the emergency room.

The project under construction belongs to Kim Linh Pagoda, Cho Gao town. The project is invested by Kim Linh Pagoda and designed by The Gioi Kien Truc Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company.

The construction unit is DHK Construction Company Ltd., with Mr. Cuong Son Dang Hoang Khanh as the project owner (Mr. Khanh is currently in detention for causing a traffic accident before). The investment amount for the project is about 10 billion VND with a scale of 2 floors.

When the construction site collapsed, Mr. Khanh was not in charge of the project but was supervised by another person who had no expertise. The workers were all local masons hired by the investor.
