Trial of Vietnamese girl murdered in Japan is coming

The trial of the murder of baby Nhat Linh in Japan will take place after the procedure of exchanging evidence and opinions of the parties is completed.

NHK reported that judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers for the defendant in the case of a Vietnamese girl murdered in Japan will exchange evidence and opinions before a public hearing on November 28. A trial date will then be set.

Earlier, the Mainichi newspaper cited investigative sources as saying that a man named Shibuya Yasumasa in his 40s was arrested on the morning of April 14 in connection with the murder of a 9-year-old Vietnamese girl, Le Thi Nhat Linh.

According to the forensic results, the suspect Shibuya's DNA matched the DNA on the body and the victim's belongings found at the scene.

It is known that the suspect, Shibuya Yasumasa, 46 years old, is the president of the parents' association of Linh's elementary school.

As reported, on March 26, the body of Le Thi Nhat Linh was discovered near a drainage ditch in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture, about 10 km from her home. When discovered, Linh had no clothes or personal belongings with her. She went missing on her way to school on March 24.

According to the autopsy results, the police estimated that Linh was murdered sometime between the morning of March 24 and the night of March 25. The cause of Linh’s death was suffocation due to strangulation. In addition, the victim showed signs of sexual abuse.

Japanese police quickly opened an investigation into the incident.

On April 3, Linh's family brought her body back to Vietnam and buried her in her hometown in Hung Yen.
