Landslides and flash floods claim 53 lives in the Philippines

(Baonghean.vn) - The Philippine Disaster Management Agency said that this morning, December 31, heavy rains over a large area led to landslides and flash floods in the central and southern provinces of the Philippines, killing at least 53 people.

Tropical Storm Jangmi forced more than 86,000 people in Surigao del Sur, Bohol and Cebu provinces to evacuate before weakening into a tropical depression.
