The area of the rented room where the heartbreaking incident happened |
At the police station, Vien said that due to marital conflicts, about 5 days before, Ms. Le Thi Anh Dao (born 1990, Vien's wife) left to live with her parents. Many times trying to contact her but failed, so Vien became more and more angry.
At noon on September 20, Vien went to buy half a liter of alcohol and drank it all alone. Then he took a sharp knife and put it in his pocket, went to his parents-in-law's room and forced Dao to return home or he would stab her to death. Vien planned to commit suicide after committing the crime to follow her.
When he arrived, he did not see Ms. Dao, but only Ms. Van opened the door. Ms. Van blamed the couple for the conflict that forced Ms. Dao to leave, so the mother and daughter argued. At this time, Mr. Tam came out of the rented room and said to his wife: "Don't talk to him."
Hearing Mr. Tam say that, Vien immediately took out the knife he had hidden in his pocket and stabbed his father-in-law many times, causing him to collapse to the ground. Then, he turned to stab Mrs. Van. However, the stab hit the wall, causing the knife handle to break and fall to the ground. Seeing the scissors hanging on the wall in the kitchen, Vien grabbed them and stabbed Mrs. Van many times in the chest and head, causing serious injuries. Mrs. Van cried for help and tried to run outside, but after a few steps, she collapsed to the floor.
