Austria tightens border controls after migrant suffocation
Reuters reported on August 31 that Austria's Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner said the country has tightened controls on its eastern border following the discovery of the bodies of 71 migrants in an abandoned truck on a highway in the country last week.

The victims met with an accident after travelling from Hungary to Austria.
"We will have permanent controls at all important border crossings in the eastern region, checking all vehicles that could potentially be used for human trafficking," Minister Mikl-Leitner told ORF radio.
