Accordingly, MB registered to offer more than 390.6 million shares with an expected mobilized capital of VND 3,906 billion at a par value of VND 10,000/share, implementation period from September 1 to 18, 2015.

However, the results of the share offering were better than expected. 100% of the shares were sold with the lowest selling price being VND10,500/share and the highest price being VND11,655/share.

The total amount of money raised from the sale of shares is 4,286 billion VND. Thus, after this offering, MBB's capital will increase by nearly 16,000 billion VND.

Notably, there are 5 institutional investors who are major shareholders who bought MB shares in the issuance, including:

The Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) bought more than 60.8 million shares, raising the total number of MBB shares it owns to 240 million shares, equivalent to 15% of MB's capital - the largest shareholder.

Viettel State-owned Trading and Import-Export Company Limited bought more than 26.8 million shares, raising the total number of shares owned to more than 74.2 million shares, accounting for 4.64% of MB's capital.

Saigon Newport Corporation Limited Company purchased more than 71.4 million shares, raising the total number of shares owned to 122.4 million shares, accounting for 7.65% of MB's capital. The ownership ratio before purchasing additional shares of this company was 4.27%.

Thus, SCIC has officially become a major shareholder of MB after many previous "hints" about wanting to own shares of this bank.

The above 5 units currently own over 45% of MB's capital, along with other major shareholders such as Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MaritimeBank) over 12%; Vietcombank 9.6%. Other shareholders only own about 33% of MB's capital.
