There will be a Performing Arts Law.
Today (April 14) in Hanoi, the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to disseminate: "Master plan for developing performing arts to 2020, orientation to 2030".
"Master plan for performing arts development to 2020, vision to 2030" consists of 3 parts, mentioning the current situation of the industry, goals to be achieved and solutions to organize the development of performing arts.
Accordingly, in the next 5 years, performing arts regions will be developed based on existing potential, cultural identity, and on the orientation of regional cultural and tourism development. By 2030, strive to bring Vietnamese performing arts to a solid position in the region and Asia. Develop the domestic performing arts market in parallel with the international market, affirming the strengths of Vietnamese performing arts as a cultural industry...
To put the planning into practice, in the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will develop the Law on Performing Arts, develop and amend Decree 79 on performing arts, fashion shows; beauty and model contests; circulation and trading of audio and video recordings of music, dance and theater, along with nearly 20 projects of various types being developed.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts, the planning has partly met the requirements of the international integration process, further improving the quality of performing arts activities as well as promoting exchange and cooperation.
Dr. Luong Hong Quang said: “In the planning of performing arts, there are two key contents, which are the content on policy mechanisms and the content on improving human resources. These two contents are breakthroughs. Regarding policy mechanisms, we will research and prepare to build the Law on Performing Arts, review and perfect the policy mechanism on performing arts in accordance with the development of society in order to improve and perfect the policy mechanism. The planning is a continuation of Resolution 23”.
At the conference, managers, leaders of local Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affiliated art units and relevant agencies and departments were provided with a plan to implement the planning, which identified the subjects, time, budget and coordinating units for each item so that localities and units could serve as a basis for implementation.
In addition, the conference acknowledged contributions to make the implementation of the planning more practical, mostly on the issue of providing facilities for performing activities, policies for artists and actors, training human resources, etc.
