The farm of Thai Duong Foreign Pig Breeding Company Ltd. will be relocated.

(Baonghean) –This morning, November 22, at the People's Committee of Dai Son Commune (Do Luong District), the People's Committee of Nghe An Province organized a dialogue between the government, Thai Duong Foreign Pig Breeding Company Limited and the people to resolve the environmental pollution caused by the Farm in Dai Son Commune. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired.

Attending the dialogue were representatives of the departments: Agriculture - Rural Development, Natural Resources - Environment, Planning - Investment, Finance, Provincial People's Committee Office, Provincial Police; District Party Committee, Do Luong District People's Committee, representative of Thai Duong Foreign Pig Breeding Company Limited, and Mrs. Dai Son commune.

A large number of people attended the dialogue.

Mr. Le Quang Thanh - Company Director promised to move the camp out of the commune before December 30, 2011.

Before that, night and day

At the dialogue, representatives of the people of hamlets 7, 8, 9, 10, Dai Son commune, took turns presenting their opinions on the situation of the Company's pig farm discharging wastewater, causing environmental pollution for a long time, affecting the lives, activities and health of the people, and at the same time requested the Company to cease operations, relocate the pig farm from the locality and have a plan to compensate the people who suffered losses.

Mr. Le Quang Thanh - Director of Thai Duong Foreign Pig Breeding Company Ltd. admitted his mistake to the people and pledged to relocate the entire farm before December 30, 2011.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, concluded: The Provincial People's Committee accepted the opinions of the people and approved the proposal to relocate Thai Duong pig farm out of Dai Son commune; Thai Duong Foreign Pig Breeding Company Limited quickly reduced the total herd, stopped production, focused on overcoming environmental pollution, and at the same time had to compensate for production losses to the people; Do Luong district conducted free health check-ups for people in the area; Provincial specialized agencies quickly conducted inspections of water pollution levels in the commune.
