(Baonghean.vn) - Due to fluctuations in input water prices, in the coming time, clean water prices in Vinh city and surrounding areas will increase. Other districts will remain the same.

On the afternoon of March 15, Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to give opinions on adjusting the consumption price of clean water products in the province. Attending the meeting were representatives of relevant departments, branches, water supply enterprises and localities.

Currently in Nghe An, there are 18 domestic water supply systems in operation with a total design capacity of 112,600 m³/day and night with the management and operation of 7 water supply units. The largest proportion is Nghe An Water Supply One Member Co., Ltd., which is managing 13 water supply systems, supplying urban areas and surrounding areas, with a total designed capacity of 94,600 m³/day and night, accounting for 84% of total capacity.

The current consumption price of clean water products in Nghe An province is regulated in Decision No. 39/2014/QD-UBND dated June 20, 2014 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Currently, the price of raw water has increased sharply from 630 VND/m³ up to 1950 VND/m³ So it is necessary to adjust the price of clean water.

The clean water price applied to customers in the town of Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts is adjusted according to Document No. 313/UBND-DTXD dated January 16, 2015 of the Provincial People's Committee, specifically: The price of water for domestic use for households is calculated at a price of 5,000 VND/m³ (excluding steps); The price of water for domestic use for households in Thach Giam commune, Tuong Duong district is 3,500 VND/m3 (excluding steps).

Concluding the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed: After 2 years of implementation, the consumption price of clean water products stipulated in Decision No. 39/2014/QD-UBND dated June 20, 2014 of the Provincial People's Committee is no longer suitable, adjustment is necessary.

The viewpoint is to calculate separate prices for the two Vinh areas and surrounding areas, while the remaining areas remain at the current prices. It is recommended that the Department of Finance receive comments from the Departments and branches to calculate a reasonable unit price; It is recommended that the Department of Finance coordinate with the Department of Construction to recalculate a suitable water unit price to submit to the Provincial People's Committee in the upcoming meeting, taking into account the people's ability to pay and the investment of enterprises.
