Will monitor and supervise to the end the post-inspection of violating enterprises and units.
In early August 2011, Nghe An Newspaper published a series of articles reflecting on the environmental pollution situation at hospitals and projects. After the publication, Nghe An Newspaper received the following comments from Colonel Tran Huu Hong - Head of the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department on this issue:
"We welcome Nghe An Newspaper for frankly reflecting on the investigation into the current situation as well as the limitations of environmental management in projects in the area. In my opinion, the important issue is the awareness and responsibility of leaders of units and enterprises. Enterprises cannot trample and destroy the living environment of the community for their own profits.
State management work, in addition to economic benefits, must put environmental protection first. The state's regulation is to spend 1% of the total budget revenue to regenerate and protect the environment, so the state needs to use that budget to handle problems such as industrial park infrastructure, common wastewater treatment systems, and should not rely on businesses. Strengthen inspection and supervision, and be more aggressive in handling violations. For polluting businesses, if it is necessary to suspend, they must be suspended, if it is necessary to close, they must be closed. For businesses that voluntarily comply with environmental laws, they need to be facilitated, supported to develop, and commended. Businesses that disregard the interests of the community need to be strictly handled. The provincial environmental police will monitor and supervise to the end the post-inspection of businesses and units that violate environmental laws, and at the same time advise the Party Committees and authorities at all levels on the issue of raising awareness of environmental protection. The press needs to continue to provide information to facilitate people's participation and monitoring of environmental protection.
