"I have great confidence in the cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian universities, first of all because these universities have the potential and a long tradition of cooperation with each other. And the products of their cooperation are good experts in different fields, from business to basic sciences and arts," the Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training said about his assessment of the prospects of Vietnam-Russia educational cooperation after the signing ceremony of cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian universities.

Minister Phung Xuan Nha also emphasized that Vietnam is currently in great need of high-quality experts, especially in the fields of high technology and economics, and that Russian education is advanced and meets Vietnam's needs. To make bilateral cooperation more practical, the Vietnamese side has proposed the idea of establishing an annual rectors' forum. The forum aims to connect universities of the two countries more closely.

To sign a series of cooperation documents within the framework of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Russia, universities of the two countries worked and cooperated very closely.

"I am very happy to see that in recent years, especially in the past year, cooperation between Russian and Vietnamese educational institutions has been much more active. Vietnamese language is of interest in Russia. That is clearly shown, for example, at our school, the number of students choosing Vietnamese this year is quite large, even more than the supply. On the contrary, we see that the interest of Vietnamese students, postgraduates, and interns in studying at our school is increasing. That demonstrates the development of cooperation and the prospects of educational and training cooperation between our school and Hanoi National University. I believe that our cooperation has potential and will develop in many forms, from education and training to scientific research",Ms. Irina Kraeva - Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University spoke.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Ms. Marina Borovskaya, talked about the "Export of Education" project of the Russian Federation. This national project will create more opportunities for foreign students to study in Russia, including students from Vietnam.

In 2018, the Russian Government granted more than 950 scholarships to Vietnamese students, researchers and interns. This number will increase to 1,000 next year, the Vietnam - Russia "cross-cultural" year. Educational and humanities cooperation between the two countries is entering a new page.
