In response to the case of some gas stations in Ho Chi Minh City siphoning off fuel, mixing water and impurities into gasoline, the city has decided to revoke the licenses of 9 stores and will soon revoke the licenses of 2 related stores. The Ministry has also requested the relevant agencies to strictly handle and prosecute the violators.
Regarding the quality of petroleum, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Public Security to clarify related cases. In particular, this year is considered a key year for quality inspection and registration of petroleum business.
Regarding the recent sharp increase in gas prices, within the scope of its management authority, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will strengthen inspection and control of the market to prevent unreasonable price speculation; at the same time, it is requested that localities and the Department of Industry and Trade publicly disclose the petrol and liquefied gas trading units that have committed related violations so that people can know.
As with petroleum products, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with the Ministry of Finance to conduct a general inspection of the gas market to strictly manage this product to ensure consumer rights./.
