The case that occurred at Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation will be tried in 2019.

On May 21, 2019, in Hanoi, the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption (Steering Committee) held a meeting chaired by Comrade Tran Quoc Vuong - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee to discuss and give opinions on a number of cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee since the 15th Session up to now.

At this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee commended the competent authorities for focusing on leading and directing the strict implementation of the Conclusion of the General Secretary, President, and Head of the Steering Committee at the 15th Session, including the conclusion of the inspection of the Phase 2 Production Expansion Project - Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Company; the management and use of the advance payment and capital for restructuring the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin).

The Central Inspection Commission has inspected, handled, and recommended disciplinary action against many high-ranking officials who committed violations related to corruption and economics, which have been highly appreciated and supported by the people.

Regarding tasks in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee requested Party committees and organizations at all levels to continue to strengthen leadership and direction of functional agencies to promote the fight against corruption; complete the investigation, prosecution and trial of cases on schedule; verify and handle cases according to the Steering Committee's Plan.

Strive to complete the investigation of 28 cases by the end of 2019; issue indictments to prosecute 24 cases; conduct first-instance trials of 29 cases; conduct appeal trials of 7 cases; and complete verification of 36 cases.

In particular, focus on investigating, prosecuting, and bringing to first instance trial 8 serious and complicated cases that the public is interested in in 2019, including: (1) The case of "Intentionally violating State regulations on economic management causing serious consequences, Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" occurring at Vietnam Social Security; (2) The case of "Violating regulations on land management and use; Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste" occurring at Hai Thanh Company;

(3) The case of “Receiving bribes, Giving bribes; Violating regulations on management and use of public investment capital causing serious consequences” occurred at Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation; (4) The case of “Violating regulations on investment in construction works causing serious consequences” occurred at PetroVietnam Petrochemical and Biofuel Joint Stock Company (PVB), Phu Tho;

(5) The case of "Violating regulations on banking activities and other activities related to banking activities" occurred at Phuong Nam Bank; (6) The case of "Violating regulations on land management; Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste" occurred in Da Nang;

(7) The case of “Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste” occurred at the Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Corporation (Sabeco); (8) The case of “Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste” related to the project at 8-12 Le Duan, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Also at this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee gave opinions on a number of other important cases./.
