Lightning struck Yen Thanh Radio and Television Station

(Baonghean) - At about 3:30 to 3:45 a.m. on September 5, 2011, during a thunderstorm, lightning struck the Yen Thanh District Radio and Television Station.

A strong lightning strike hit the broadcasting antenna mast, breaking the mast's indicator light. The entire system, including two PTTH transmitters, satellite receivers, four computers, and a non-linear film editing system, was damaged.

It is worth mentioning that during the storm, the transmitter system was not working and the circuit breaker was cut off from the grid system, but due to the strong impact of the lightning strike on the antenna pole, through the wire into the receiving and transmitting system, it caused consequences. The total initial damage is estimated at more than 1 billion VND.
