Tighten management of bulky cargo vehicles
The National Traffic Safety Committee has just proposed that provincial and municipal People's Committees strengthen the management of the operation of rudimentary vehicles, motorbikes, and three-wheeled motor vehicles carrying bulky goods on the road.
In recent days, there have been a series of accidents caused by collisions between road users and goods carried on rudimentary vehicles or motorbikes carrying goods in violation of traffic regulations, causing tragic deaths to the victims, causing great confusion and indignation among the public.

To promptly prevent similar accidents, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binh requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to direct provincial authorities and district and commune authorities to continue to strictly implement the management of rudimentary vehicles and three-wheeled motor vehicles according to Resolution No. 05/2008/NQ-CP of the Government.
At the same time, urgently review, amend and supplement regulations to tighten the management of transportation activities of rudimentary vehicles, motorbikes, two-wheeled motorbikes, three-wheeled motorbikes and similar vehicles in the locality; step up patrolling, controlling and strictly handling all organizations and individuals using vehicles to transport bulky, oversized and overloaded goods in violation of regulations, causing disorder and traffic safety in the area.
The provincial and municipal Traffic Safety Committees shall urge, inspect and summarize the results of the initial implementation phase to the National Traffic Safety Committee for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister before October 30, 2016. From November 2016, the results of the management of transport activities of rudimentary vehicles, motorbikes, two-wheeled motorbikes, three-wheeled motorbikes and similar vehicles in the locality shall be included in the regular report on ensuring traffic order and safety in the locality.
