NewspaperThe Week(UK) citing information from Google said that AutoML's "child" is NASNet, designed to identify objects, such as people and vehicles, in photos and videos.
Studies show that NASNet can identify objects in an image with 82.7% accuracy, 1.2% higher than human-created AI programs.
The search giant says NASNet is an "open source" system, meaning developers from outside the company can extend the program or develop their own versions.
Researchers at Google say they hope AI developers will be able to build on these models to solve “a whole range of computer vision problems that we have yet to imagine.”

By pageAlphr, while the AI program created by AutoML may seem “harmless” in current parlance, significant advances in its technology could potentially pose “dangers,” such as it being able to create “biases” and propagate them to other machines.
However, the sheetDaily Expresssaid that tech giants like Facebook and Apple have joined the "Partnership on AI to Benefit People and Society" - a group that aims to implement strategies "to only allow AI to develop if it benefits humanity".
The paper also said Google's engineering director, Ray Kurzweil, believes humanity will go through "difficult times" before AI can be used to benefit civilization.
AutoML is a supercomputer created by Google engineers. In November, AutoML was used to create NASNet.
