Russian super torpedo Status-6 creates tsunami more terrible than earthquake in Japan
When talking about Status-6, physicist Rex Richardson said that Russia's super torpedo could create a tsunami more terrible than the earthquake in Japan.
The above statement was commented by the nuclear weapons expert in a conversation with a reporter from Business Insider magazine.
As part of its ambitious program to modernize its conventional arsenal, Moscow has developed a submarine that can be considered one of the most powerful, fastest and most innovative weapons of this type, the expert said.
The weapon is so powerful that if used it could create a shock wave that could cause a tsunami with a power that could exceed the tsunami caused by the 2011 earthquake in Japan.
"As a result of the significant rise in water levels, these tsunamis could reach 100 meters in height," said expert Rex Richardson.

We are talking about the "judgment day" weapon that President Putin mentioned on March 1 when he sent a message to the Federal Assembly, but the Russian leader did not mention its specific name.
When it comes to underwater drones, the Russian president has mentioned the possibility of weapons that can strike other continents. According to Richardson, the most vulnerable locations in this sense are the US cities of Los Angeles and San Diego.
It is known that before expert Rex Richardson talked about the terrible power of Status-6, America had begun to feel the heat of this weapon when Moscow announced that it had successfully tested it.
According to the Huffington Post, a recently released draft of the Pentagon's Nuclear Landscape Assessment has confirmed the existence of a nuclear super torpedo program researched and developed by Russia.
"In addition to modernizing the former Soviet nuclear system, Russia is developing and deploying new nuclear warheads and launchers," the Pentagon said.
Russia is currently developing at least two new intercontinental missile systems, a supersonic strategic bomber and a self-propelled torpedo capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
A diagram of the vehicles developed to carry Russian nuclear weapons over the past decade published in the Huffington Post mentions an autonomous underwater vehicle, or AUV, codenamed Status-6.
The Status-6 nuclear torpedo has a capacity of 20 to 50 megatons and is capable of causing an explosion with terrible destructive power. In addition, US military sources also said that if detonated underwater, the impact of this weapon could cause waves up to hundreds of meters high.
