Big C Supermarket: Many procedures annoy "customers"

(Baonghean.vn) -In the Vietnamese retail market, including Nghe An market, in addition to domestic brands that have been present in the market for a long time such as Maximax, Intimex, recently there has been the appearance of international distributors such as Big C, Metro, creating a convenient and civilized shopping space for customers. However, the reality shows that in these shopping centers considered modern, there are still some unnecessary procedures that make customers feel annoyed every time they come.
On the evening of April 6, my family and I went shopping at Big C Supermarket (Vinh City, Nghe An). After visiting and buying a few items, when I got to the checkout counter on the 3rd floor, I felt really uncomfortable when the supermarket's security forces lined up at the exit gates and proceeded to check the payment receipts and the goods in the customers' shopping bags, even though the supermarket cashier had just checked the goods and printed out the payment receipts in great detail and specificity.
This procedure makes customers feel uncomfortable, even disrespected when shopping at this shopping center, considered one of the most civilized and modern in Nghe An. Talking to many colleagues, who are also regular customers of Big C Supermarket, I received many opinions disagreeing with the above procedure.
Mr. Ngo Van Toan, a customer, said: If the cashier had checked the details clearly and the customer had only paid when receiving the bill, the security guard would not need to check again, this makes the customer feel disrespected when shopping.
Security guards gathered at the exit of the checkout counter to check bills, making many customers feel uncomfortable.
On the other hand, the floor area of Big C supermarket is very large, the number of stalls and goods is large, but the arrangement of the paths up and down between floors is very confusing, making many customers, especially the elderly and first-time visitors, confused and having difficulty finding the exit. Ms. Tran Thi Nga, an elderly customer in Le Mao ward, said: “After parking my car in the basement, I had a hard time finding the escalator to go from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor, then after shopping on the 2nd floor, I had to struggle to find the way to the 3rd floor to pay. It is very difficult for elderly people like us to recognize the way because there are almost no staff to guide us. Meanwhile, at the payment counter area, there are too many security guards gathered, checking the bills and bags of goods of customers after payment. That is unreasonable”.
The appearance of Big C supermarket in Nghe An has created a modern shopping space, a highlight for the retail market in Nghe An. Therefore, in addition to the conveniences it brings, Big C supermarket should change its customer service style so that every person who comes to shop feels like a true god.
