Singapore free television copyright for SEA Games 28
The host country of the 28th SEA Games - Singapore will not collect television copyright fees for the event to be held in this lion island nation next June.
The information was recently shared by the Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee - Mr. Hoang Vinh Giang. However, as usual, national television stations with competing sports teams will have to rent facilities in the press center.
In January, representatives of Vietnam Television went to Singapore to attend the “28th SEA Games Television Conference”. At that time, the host said that they would only broadcast live about 17 sports, at different competition locations.

Not charging for television copyright will help many television stations to have more favorable conditions in their work at the 28th SEA Games. In 2013, the host of the 27th SEA Games, Myanmar, sold television copyrights instead of giving them away for free.
The 28th SEA Games will be held from June 5 to 16, with a budget of 324.5 million USD - according to the official announcement from the 28th SEA Games Organizing Committee of Singapore. This is the first time since 1993 that Singapore has hosted a Southeast Asian Games, with the participation of more than 7,000 athletes and officials from 36 sports.
Speaking to the press recently, Chairman of the 28th SEA Games Organizing Committee, Lim Teck Yin, affirmed: "This will be an important event on the occasion of Singapore's 50th anniversary of independence. This is a special year for all Singaporeans and the SEA Games Organizing Committee will strive to organize this event successfully to bring everyone a memorable celebration."
The 28th SEA Games will kick off with men's football matches from May 29, with the Singapore U23 team, led by former Singapore captain Aide Iskandar, hoping to win their first SEA Games men's football gold medal.
Meanwhile, the Singapore sports delegation aims to win 50 gold medals, equal to the achievement it won at the 1993 SEA Games, also in this island nation.
To date, the 28th SEA Games Organizing Committee has mobilized and invited 17,000 volunteers, including young people and students, to participate in organizing the event./.
