University students involved in large-scale fake diploma ring
On July 2, Dong Da District Police, Hanoi, initiated a case and prosecuted 3 suspects, all of whom are students at the University of Science and Technology, for the crime of "Forging seals and documents of organizations".

They are Vu Dinh Quyen (born in 1983, residing in Xuan Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province); Dao Anh Tuan (born in 1984, residing in Tan Thuat commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) and Nguyen Dang Duc, born in 1987, residing in Xuan Canh commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi.
Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on June 13, Quyen received a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Foreign Trade University for NVB (born February 13, 1983, in Phuong Lien ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi) for 8.5 million VND.
The right to receive B's 1 million VND deposit, and promise to receive the license a week later. On the evening of June 20, when the young man was delivering the license to B at cafe 368 Xa Dan street, Phuong Lien ward, Dong Da, Hanoi, he was caught red-handed by Dong Da district police detectives.
Expanding the investigation, the police agency clarified that after receiving an order from B. Quyen, he hired a subject Quang (whose identity is currently unknown) to fake the above diploma for 5.5 million VND. In addition, Quyen also colluded with many other subjects to fake about 20 graduation diplomas of various types to sell to those in need.

Specifically, Quyen, through Dao Anh Tuan, made a number of fake degrees, including 2 degrees (1 PhD and 1 Master's degree) under the name of LT.M (born August 20, 1977) for 6.5 million VND for the Master's degree and 8 million VND for the Doctor's degree. In fact, Quyen offered his customers 12 million VND for the Master's degree and 15 million VND for the Doctor's degree.
At around 5:30 p.m. on June 21, when Tuan was carrying a doctoral degree for Quyen at Phuong Lien communal house, Dong Da district, Hanoi, he was arrested by Dong Da district police. Tuan confessed that after accepting to make a fake degree for Quyen, Tuan hired Nguyen Dang Duc to make a fake degree for 3 million VND/degree. When searching Tuan's residence, the police also seized many fake degrees of various types.
Currently, this sophisticated fake diploma ring is being further investigated by the police.
