Pedagogy students struggle to find a job
(Baonghean.vn)- The lack of output is the reason why in recent years students are not very interested in the education sector. The current situation of unemployed education students and training not linked to human resource needs is causing great waste to society.
According to a report from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, in 2010, 340 pedagogical students graduated and were recruited into high schools in the province; in 2011, there were 231 students; in 2012, there were 118 students; in 2013, there were 54 students. It can be seen that the recruitment number of the following year is approximately 100 people lower than the previous year, while the enrollment quota for pedagogical students at Vinh University is from 800 to 900 each year.
Le Thi Thanh Truyen (born in 1988) graduated from K50 Vinh University with 2 bachelor's degrees in History and History Pedagogy, both with honors. Her family's circumstances are extremely difficult, and as a member of the Vinh School's Shelter Club, she has received active support from the Student Support and Business Connection Center. The Center has sent a list of Truyen to high schools in the South Central provinces but has not yet been recruited. After struggling for 2 years, Truyen still does not have a stable job, and has to teach kindergarten for the children of workers of a leather shoe manufacturing LLC. She said: "Since I was little, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, but after graduating with 2 honors, wherever I went, I was told: there are too many teachers."
A lesson of Vinh University's Pedagogical College students
Like Truyen, Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung is 27 years old this year but still does not have a stable job. Having graduated from political education, she has sent her application to many schools but still has not received any results, so she had to ask for help from the Center. She said she is willing to go to remote areas as long as she has the opportunity to teach.
The situation of pedagogical students waiting for jobs is not only happening in Nghe An. The recent conference on improving the quality of human resources held at Vinh University showed that Thanh Hoa currently has 4,000 pedagogical students out of a total of 25,000 graduates without jobs. Like Thanh Hoa, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh also announced that it has stopped recruiting teachers for the past 2 years due to the phenomenon of decreasing students in each level of education, accordingly, the situation of teacher surplus is happening.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief Inspector of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, said: "The Department has forecasted human resources until 2020, but schools still enroll hundreds of students each year. In fact, this report is sent to the Ministry, not to the schools, and every year the schools still enroll students. And with the training level not commensurate with actual needs, I'm afraid that in a few years, most of the pedagogical students will be unemployed after graduating."
The difficult output makes the admission of students in the pedagogical field also very worrying. Vinh University is famous for training teachers for the entire North Central region, but in recent years the quality of students entering this field has been decreasing. In the past 2 years, the standard score for the information technology pedagogical field has been close to the floor score, but there are still not enough students to train. The top student in the mathematics department in the 2012 school year only scored 22 points, equal to the admission score 10 years ago. Faced with this reality, the school has coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Youth Union to annually provide admissions consultations with the aim of attracting high-quality human resources for the pedagogical field, but it seems that the number of students with good academic achievements is not very interested, the admissions profile is almost devoid of students with national awards...
The school has many policies for excellent and good graduates by connecting with schools in the South Central region such as Nha Trang Central Ethnic University Preparatory School and has achieved certain results. In 2012, out of 12 excellent students in the fields of geography, mathematics, chemistry, and biology, 7 students were recruited.
The output and input of pedagogical students is an unsolved problem of the Education Industry.
