Nghe An students in Hue sell cakes for charity

(Baonghean.vn) - For the past two days, on the streets of Hue city, many students from Nghe An have been rushing to deliver cakes to raise funds for the program "Warm Winter in Nghe An - Spring in the Village" in Ky Son.

Following the success of the cake sale to raise funds to help some families in difficult circumstances in their hometown in May, this time, the Nghe An Student Association at Hue University continued to implement the plan to sell cakes to raise funds to help children and the poor in Ky Son district.

With the desire to “help the poor according to the students’ ability”, the fundraising cake selling plan of Nghe An students in Hue was implemented quite systematically. Initially, they wrote propaganda articles, called for support online, took advantage of everyone’s support, received cake purchase registrations, then contacted to order and ship cakes from Nghe An to Hue.

Unlike the previous cake sale, which was mainly organized by Nghe An students at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, this program is larger in scale, selling more types of cakes (gai cake, rice cake, cassava cake) with the participation of Nghe An students from many universities in Hue (Agriculture, Medicine, Education, Foreign Languages, Law, Science...).

The cakes ordered from Nghe An are all specialties of the homeland: Anh Son gai cake, Do Luong rice cake, Thanh Chuong cassava cake.

The charity "selling cakes to raise funds" program received support from many customers, including many children of Nghe An people in Hue. Many Nghe An students in Hue enthusiastically participated in selling cakes online and more than 40 volunteers directly delivered the goods to customers. By the afternoon of December 20, after 2 days of implementation, the Nghe An Student Association at Hue University had sold 2,200 pairs of gai cakes, 2,250 rice cakes of various types, minus the consignment fee, earning nearly 9 million VND in profit.

It is known that in addition to selling cakes, in the coming time, the Association will also have other activities such as collecting scrap metal, donating old items... to have more funds and objects for the program "Warm Winter in Nghe An - Spring in the Village" which will be held in Ky Son district before the Lunar New Year of Mau Tuat.

Nguyen Huu Tu, from Thanh Chuong, a student of Veterinary Medicine at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry - the initiator of the charity cake selling program said: "Through this program, we want to affirm that, no matter what we do or where we are, the children of Nghe An still turn to their homeland with the most sincere feelings. These volunteer activities are also an environment for students to promote their youthful enthusiasm as well as to strengthen the spirit of solidarity of Nghe An students in Hue City."
