A glass of chilled plum syrup, with its tangy, sweet, and slightly salty flavor, will help quench your summer thirst.

Ingredient:

- Plums: 1 kg
- Sugar: 300-400 grams (adjust the amount of sugar to your taste)
- A small pinch of salt

Making:

- Wash the plums thoroughly and soak them in salt water.

- Removing the pit: Use a knife to cut the plum in half, gently twist in opposite directions between the two halves to separate one part from the other, which will be pitted. Use a sharp knife to remove the pit from the remaining part.

- Soak the pitted plums in sugar for about 2-3 hours. The sugar may not dissolve completely, but you can still cook them on the stove.

- Initially, cook over high heat, but once the plums begin to simmer, reduce the heat to low so they simmer gently. You can stir the plums at this stage to prevent them from breaking apart. Add a pinch of salt.

- Simmer the plums over low heat for about 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent them from becoming mushy.

Once the plums are soft, turn off the heat, let them cool, transfer them to an airtight glass jar, and store them in the refrigerator.

- Plum syrup drink: Take some syrup and a few pieces of plum, add a few drops of lemon or lime juice, mix with cold water and add ice for a delicious and refreshing summer drink.
