Easy to make plum syrup, ideal for summer refreshment

A glass of cool, sour, sweet, salty plum syrup will help you quench your summer thirst.

Ingredient:

- Plums: 1 kg
- Sugar: 300-400 gr (adjust the amount of sugar to suit your taste)
- 1 small pinch of salt

Making:

- Wash plums and soak in salt water.

- Separating the seeds: use a knife to cut the plum in half, gently twist the two parts of the plum in opposite directions to separate a seedless part, and use a sharp knife to separate the seeds from the remaining part.

- Soak the pitted plums in sugar for about 2-3 hours. The sugar may not be completely dissolved, but you can put it on the stove to boil.

- Initially boil on high heat but when the plums start to boil, reduce the heat to medium low so that the plums boil gently. You can stir the plums at this time to avoid crushing them. Add a little salt.

- Simmer the plums for about 30-45 minutes over low heat, do not stir the plums too much to avoid crushing them.

- When the plums are soft, turn off the stove, let cool, put in a sealed glass jar, and store in the refrigerator.

- Drink plum syrup: take the syrup with a few pieces of plum, squeeze a few drops of lemon or kumquat juice, mix with cold water and add ice to have a delicious refreshing drink for the summer.
