SLNA finalizes the list of participants in the 2018 National U19 qualifying round
(Baonghean.vn) - SLNA Club has just finalized the list of U19 team participating in the qualifying round of the 2018 National U19 Football Tournament. In this squad, there are 2 players who have just completed their duties at the Vietnam U19 National Team.
In 2018, the qualifying round of the National U19 Football Tournament was divided into 4 groups, in which Group B was hosted by Song Lam Nghe An Club, including 5 teams: Song Lam Nghe An, FLC Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, SHB Da Nang and Quang Nam. At the end of the qualifying round, the 4 first-placed teams, 3 second-placed teams with the best results in the four groups and the host team Thua Thien Hue will be selected to enter the final round.

And to prepare for the upcoming matches taking place at Vinh Stadium, yesterday (December 26), the U19 SLNA team finalized the list of players born from 1999 to 2002 led by coach Nguyen Dinh Dung.
Notably, in this list are the captain of the Vietnam U19 team, central defender Thai Ba Sang and midfielder Mai Sy Hoang. 2017 was a successful year for central defender Thai Ba Sang when he was trusted by coach Hoang Anh Tuan to be the captain throughout the journey to win a ticket to the 2018 AFC U19 Championship.
In addition, the Nghe An youth team also has the services of players who just won bronze medals at the National U21 Football Tournament such as goalkeeper Duong Van Cuong and midfielder Dang Van Lam - players who have performed quite prominently in recent youth tournaments.
If successful, Coach Nguyen Dinh Dung and his team will participate in the final round taking place from March 6 to 15, 2018 at Tu Do Stadium - Hue City. In the qualifying round, the matches will be held in two legs, the first leg: from January 8 to 18, 2018; the second leg: from January 22 to February 1, 2018.
Although SLNA has not won this tournament in the past 10 years, the Nghe An team still holds the record for the number of championships with 5 times in the years: 1999; 2001; 2004; 2005 and 2006. At the 2017 National U19 Finals, SLNA stopped at the quarter-finals. |
