(Baonghean.vn) - The number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases in Nghe An is not high and there have been no recorded deaths. However, people should not be subjective about the disease.

According to the report of Nghe An Center for Disease Control: In the past week, Nghe An recorded 15 more cases of infection/suspected infection.hand, foot and mouth diseasein Nghia Dan district (7), Nghi Loc district (4), Dien Chau (3), Vinh city (1); increased by 12 cases compared to last week and no deaths.
The total number of confirmed/suspected cases since the beginning of the year is 43, 62.9% lower than the same period in 2022 (116 cases). No deaths have been recorded in 2023. It is noteworthy that in recent weeks, the number of cases has increased gradually compared to the same period in 2022.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease. To proactively prevent it, Dr. Chu Trong Trang - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province recommends: People and the community need to proactively follow the Ministry of Health's instructions on disease prevention:
- Wash hands regularly with soap under running water many times a day (both adults and children), especially before preparing food, before eating/feeding children, before holding children, after going to the toilet, after changing diapers and cleaning children;
- Practice good food hygiene: eat cooked food, drink boiled water; eating utensils must be washed thoroughly before use (preferably soaked in boiling water); ensure clean water is used in daily activities; do not feed children; do not let children eat with their hands, suck their fingers, or suck on toys; do not let children share napkins, handkerchiefs, eating utensils such as cups, bowls, plates, spoons, and toys that have not been sterilized;
- Regularly clean surfaces and objects that are in daily contact such as toys, school supplies, doorknobs, stair handrails, table/chair surfaces, and floors with soap or common detergents;
- Do not let children come into contact with sick or suspected sick people;
- Use hygienic toilets, feces and waste of patients must be collected and dumped into hygienic toilets;
- When detecting signs of suspected illness in children, take the child to see a doctor or immediately notify the nearest medical facility./.
