Department of Education and Training directs handling of student beating teacher case

Too angry, he gathered two friends to beat up the teacher on the way home. As a result, the teacher was seriously injured and had to be hospitalized.On October 8, Nghe An Department of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 2277/SGD&DT-VP directing the Principal of Dang Thai Mai High School to handle the incident.

Summary of the incident: On the morning of October 2, teacher Pham Xuan Dong (teacher at Dang Thai Mai High School, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An) went to class and discovered that student Tran Van Viet (grade 12) had his hair cut bald. Teacher Dong asked Viet to meet the school leaders to ask for permission, only then was he allowed to enter the class. Viet did not listen to teacher Dong and went home. In the afternoon of the same day, Viet invited Nguyen Doan Tan and Nguyen Tien Thuan (living in Thanh Giang commune, Thanh Chuong) to discuss a plan to beat the teacher. After drinking, all three brought iron pipes to lie in wait in a deserted area (on Provincial Road 533, the border between Thanh Ha and Thanh Giang communes). When teacher Dong arrived by motorbike, Viet stood guard, while Tan and Thuan covered their faces, holding iron pipes, and rushed in to beat the teacher. Teacher Dong had to run into a house, but the two still chased after him to continue beating him. After that, they also used the iron pipes to smash the teacher's motorbike before leaving.

As a result, teacher Pham Xuan Dong was injured in the arms, legs, shoulders, back, etc. and is currently being treated at the District General Hospital. Thanh Chuong District Police have arrested two suspects, Nguyen Doan Tan and Nguyen Tien Thuan, for further investigation.

After receiving the above information, on October 8, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 2277/SGD&DT-VP directing the Principal of Dang Thai Mai High School to handle the incident. Accordingly, the Director of the Department assigned the Principal of the school to coordinate with the authorities to verify and clarify the cause of the incident, hold a Disciplinary Council meeting to strictly handle student Tran Van Viet, the mastermind in organizing the beating of teacher Pham Xuan Dong, causing serious injuries; organize encouragement and visit teacher Pham Xuan Dong, help him recover quickly and return to normal work... and report the results of handling the incident before October 25, 2012.
