(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 14, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review 3 years of implementing the national strategy on gender equality in the period of 2011-2015 and summarize the work for women's advancement in 2013, and deploy tasks for 2014. Attending the conference were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Committee for Gender Equality, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and leaders of some localities.
The National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2011-2015 period began to be implemented in 2011. After three years, the role and status of women and men have been clearly improved through the results of implementing equality rights. As a result, jobs have been created for over 104,000 workers, of which over 47,500 female workers have been employed, reaching 46/49% of the set plan; the rate of women in poor rural areas and ethnic minority areas who need preferential loans from employment programs, poverty reduction and official credit sources reached 78.8%. Strategies related to women and girls; the fields of labor, employment, poverty reduction, education and training, health care... all exceeded the target; the rate of women who are National Assembly deputies, People's Council deputies and participating as leaders from the province to the commune is higher than the previous period.

In the coming time, to overcome the remaining shortcomings and difficulties, especially in the work of propaganda, implementation of policies and appointment of female leaders, the Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women requested: departments and branches need to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of laws on gender equality, mainstream gender in human resource development policies, training, recruitment, organize the implementation of employment assurance targets, coordinate with the enhancement of vocational training and access to economic resources for women... At the same time, continue to coordinate and promote communication work to ensure the effective implementation of legal regulations; pay attention to the issue of employment for women; prevent violence and trafficking of women...
