(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of February 20, the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police organized a preliminary review of one year of implementing the campaign "People's Police strictly obey regulations; build a cultural lifestyle to serve the people" and summarized the peak emulation period to ensure traffic safety and attack and suppress crimes before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2012.
After 1 year of implementing the movement "People's Public Security strictly comply with regulations; build a cultural lifestyle to serve the people" launched by the Ministry of Public Security, officers and soldiers have improved their political mettle, revolutionary ethics, and fighting spirit. Along with that, one of the key tasks of the campaign is to concretize it through excellent completion of professional work. That is why the work of ensuring traffic safety and preventing crime has achieved many results.
During the peak emulation period to ensure traffic safety and attack and suppress crimes before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2012, the Department organized 1,351 traffic police patrols with 3,984 officers participating, thereby detecting and recording 7,083 administrative violations, temporarily seizing 69 cars, 76 motorbikes, issuing decisions to punish 6,963 cases, collecting fines of 4,906,612,000 VND, and temporarily revoking 184 driver's licenses.
In the area, there were only 34 traffic accidents, 36 deaths, 20 injuries, compared to the same period in 2011, a decrease in all 3 criteria (28 cases, 33 deaths, 08 injuries). Through the work of traffic police, 33 cases and 41 subjects were discovered and arrested, 09 marijuana cakes (9kg); 1,305.55g of heroin; 3,918g of crystal meth, 01 set of crystal meth use; 50.9kg of various types of firecrackers; 24.982m3 of wood; 1.5kg of explosives, 7 detonators, 1.2m of slow-burning wire, 04 motorbikes as evidence of the cases; 06 fake driving licenses and some commercial fraud goods of unknown origin. The total value of seized assets is about 3 billion VND.
With the achieved results, the department's leaders continue to launch emulation movements among officers and soldiers to excellently complete assigned tasks, contributing to maintaining traffic order and safety in the area; continue to promote the implementation of the movement "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh - People's Public Security Forces forgetting themselves for the country, serving the people".
