(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 18, Mr. Vi Ngoc Quynh - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An province, leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quynh Luu district visited and encouraged 3 families with children who drowned on the afternoon of May 16 at the beach of Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune.

The provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs supported the family of two dead twins with 3 million VND and the family of one dead child with 2 million VND.

As reported at 3:30 p.m. on May 16, twin brothers Vu Van Huynh and Vu Van De (residents of Quynh Thuan commune) and Bui Van Thanh (5th grade student of Quynh Thuan Primary School) invited each other to go to Cong Hoa beach in Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu) to swim, unfortunately drowned to death, the incident was discovered by a local resident, however, when this local resident swam out to save the 3 children, it was too late, all 3 children were drowned by the waves and went missing. At about 10:30 p.m. on May 16, Mr. Sac and Mr. Thuan, along with the functional forces, were actively searching when they suddenly discovered a body at Bai Hang beach, Cong Hoa village, about 50m from where the 3 students were injured. After being brought to shore, the victim was identified as Bui Quang Thanh (11 years old). At around 5:00 a.m. on May 17, authorities and their families found the bodies of twin brothers Vu Van Huynh and Vu Van De caught in a fishing net and drifting to Bai Hang beach in Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune.

Quynh Luu is a district with complex terrain, many streams, lakes, especially 9 communes bordering the sea. In recent times, the work of preventing child injuries in general and preventing child drowning accidents in particular has been paid attention to by all levels and sectors in the district. However, the rate of child deaths due to injuries, especially child drowning, is still high every year.
