Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received the Second Class Independence Medal.
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, January 10, Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to summarize the work of 2011, deploy tasks for 2012 and receive the Second Class Independence Medal.
Attending were comrades: Nguyen Dang Khoa - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In 2012, despite being affected by factors such as weather and epidemics, the GDP growth rate of the agricultural sector was still quite good. The economic structure continued to develop in the right direction, the total food output reached 1,160 thousand tons, in the 2011 Spring crop alone the rice yield reached 65.2 quintals/ha, the highest ever. Livestock farming developed in the direction of concentrated farming, creating commodity products. Forest development and protection were given attention and development, forest coverage reached 53.5%.
Implementing the tasks of 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development set the goal of continuing to rapidly shift to commodity agriculture, applying high technology to production, increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products. Developing livestock comprehensively in both quantity and quality, increasing the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production by 4.5-5% compared to 2011.
On this occasion, the collective of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector was honored to receive the Second Class Independence Medal from the President; 2 collectives and 8 individuals were awarded the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals; 7 collectives and 16 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister for their many achievements in the cause of agricultural and rural development.
