In the fields of post, telecommunications, internet, and radio frequencies, the Department of Information and Communications has organized and implemented many projects such as integrated coastal zone management; national target program to bring information to the grassroots level, doing a good job of ensuring information security in all situations, ensuring communication during natural disasters and floods.

In 2014, the Department has deployed the pasting of 1,000 communication labels for fishing boats over 90CV in the province; developed a text message warning program for rain, flood, tropical depression, flood discharge schedule; Implemented the licensing of radio frequencies and frequency bands for district radio and television stations, 284 grassroots radio stations, etc.

In the field of information technology application and development, the Information and Communications sector has contributed to enhancing Nghe An's position in being ready for information technology application and development; building and putting into use an online electronic meeting system connecting 24 points from the province to districts and towns in the province. From 2010 to now, 62 online meetings have been successfully organized with good quality and efficiency; providing 1,467 level 1 and 2 public services to people and businesses; effectively managing and operating the official email system with more than 7,100 addresses put into operation.
