Comrade Ho Quang Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Head of the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command chaired the conference.

In 2011, the Nghe An information and communication sector was severely affected by two storms and two consecutive heavy floods, but thanks to careful direction and preparation, many human and property losses were limited, especially no human losses. The post-storm recovery work was carried out promptly and synchronously between postal and telecommunications enterprises, so the situation of complete loss of communication in isolated areas and areas with power outages was overcome. According to statistics, the total damage of VNPT Nghe An due to floods and storms was estimated at 5 billion 314 million VND, Viettel's damage was over 2 billion 206 million VND.

The conference approved the Decision to consolidate the Flood and Storm Prevention Command Board and assign tasks to members of the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command Board of the Information and Communications sector in 2012.
