Exciting banh chung wrapping contest for the poor in the border area of Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 22, the National Defense Economic Group 4 (Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son), the Political Department of Military Region 4 coordinated with relevant units to organize the "Green Banh Chung - for the poor" contest for the communes of Nam Can, Na Ngoi, Muong Ai, and Muong Tip of Ky Son district.
The program took place with a competition of wrapping banh chung, arranging fruit trays, and arranging flowers for 5 teams. Each team has 30 minutes to wrap 10 banh chung, arrange the trays, arrange flowers, and then present. These banh chung pairs will be cooked to support the poor in the area to celebrate Tet.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tu Hoa - Political Commissar of Nam Can Border Guard Station shared: "We crossed the road to come here with the purpose of supporting the poor people in the area to have a warmer Tet. They are the fences on the border of the Fatherland but are facing many difficulties when Tet comes and Spring comes. Therefore, when participating in this competition, the officers and soldiers of the station are very enthusiastic."
That same evening, the delegation also presented many meaningful gifts to students and people in border communes located on the Western beltway of Nghe An.
In addition to the above activities, the program also organizes many meaningful Spring and Tet activities such as pao throwing and cockfighting for the people.
This is an activity in response to the province's call for "Tet for the poor" to help ethnic minorities in the highlands have a warmer and more prosperous Tet.
