Exciting drum competition at Duc Hoang Temple Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 25, at Duc Hoang Temple, Phuc Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh), the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh District organized the first drum beating competition (also known as family drum) in 2017.

Participating in the drum beating competition are 8 drum teams of clans from communes. According to the regulations of the organizing committee, each team has from 5 to 7 people, including 1 person in charge of the big drum, 1 or 2 people playing the small drum and nao, one person playing the gong, all must dress according to traditional ethnic customs, provide their own drums and necessary props.

During the 20-minute competition, there will be 9 parts: beating the drum to signal the preparation for the ceremony; starting the ancient battle (the upper-level drum); the ancient three-way communication (the big gong and drum are rung 9 times 3 times); the small and small drums are rung 3 times; the offering drum; the returning drum; the drum to read the prayer; the bowing drum and the sacrificial drum for families to learn from each other.
