Exciting drum competition at Duc Hoang Temple Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 25, at Duc Hoang Temple, Phuc Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh), the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh District organized the first drum beating competition (also known as family drum) in 2017.

There are 8 drum teams from clans from communes participating in the drumming competition. According to the regulations of the organizing committee, each team has from 5 to 7 people, including 1 person in charge of the big drum, 1 or 2 people playing the small drums and nao, one person playing the gong, all must dress according to traditional ethnic customs, provide their own drums and necessary props.

In 20 minutes, there will be 9 performances: beating the drum to signal preparation for the ceremony; starting the ancient battle (ie the upper palace drum); ancient three-way communication (big gong and drum rung 3 times, 9 beats); Tieu nhac tac (small drum and nao rung 3 times); offering drum; returning drum; reading prayer text drum; bowing drum and sacrificial drum for families to learn from each other.
