Quickly affirm the brand "Nghe An Tea"
(Baonghean) -Up to now, the whole province has had 68 enterprises, cooperatives, tea production and processing establishments, of which 60 are handmade tea production and processing establishments with a capacity of 0.5 tons - 10 tons/day and most concentrated in Thanh Chuong district with 54 kilns, the remaining districts are Anh Son with 4 kilns, Con Cuong with 2 kilns.
The total processing capacity is 380 tons of fresh buds/day. The tea growing area is large, the number of tea production and processing facilities is large; however, up to now, only 10 hectares of tea have been granted a certificate of tea production according to VietGAP and 2 units have been recognized to meet HACCP standards (principles in the food safety management system) in tea processing, which is too little and still fragmented. Due to farming habits and practices, people in the tea region still produce tea mainly based on the experience accumulated over many generations and up to now, Nghe An tea products still have no guarantee for domestic and foreign consumers to trust.
According to the orientation to 2020 and vision to 2030 of Nghe An province, tea is still identified as a key crop. The Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management continues to regularly inspect and supervise tea production and processing establishments according to the provisions of Circular No. 45/2014/TT-BNNPTNT to guide businesses to get into order and properly implement regulations; manage quality and food safety and hygiene of the tea industry along the chain from field production to processing and consumption. However, the above work still faces many difficulties due to the limited thinking and awareness of a part of the people...
The practical requirement for the authorities, the tea growing community in general and tea production and trading establishments in particular in Nghe An province is to build a product quality management mechanism, register for protection of the Nghe An tea trademark and establish a collective organization to jointly preserve and protect cultural values, as well as exploit the economic value of tea products in a suitable and highly effective manner. That is, the "necessary" purpose of building the "Nghe An Tea" brand is a job that requires the intelligence and dedication of both the leaders and the people of Nghe An.
