Son Tung M-TP's MV always causes a 'fever'

Every time Son Tung M-TP releases a new song, it quickly gains a huge number of views and creates a "fever" on social networking sites.

Recently, Son Tung M-TP released the MV “Lac troi” on January 1, 2017. On the first day of release, the MV immediately entered the Top most viewed MVs of the day on the chart of the online video sharing site Youtube.

Up to now, after 4 days of release, the MV has had more than 13 million views. This is almost a record number compared to other Vietnamese music MVs released on Youtube before, and also an impressive number compared to the MVs that Son Tung has released such as "Chung ta khong thuc ve nhau", "Chac ai do se ve", "Buong doi tay nhau ra"...

The MV “Lac troi” also created a “fever” on social networking sites with hundreds of thousands of likes and shares of this MV, along with hundreds of thousands of comments on Facebook as well as Youtube. It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Son Tung M-TP’s products have achieved such remarkable achievements. Almost all of the songs he composed have set “huge” records and created social network effects.

The reason for this is that, in addition to the media being the channel for Son Tung M-TP's products to reach a large audience, it is necessary to mention the large number of fans of the male singer from Thai Binh. As soon as Son Tung released a new product, fans shared and called on each other to watch and listen to the new song. Many fans also shared that they watched the MV "Lac troi" (as well as other MVs of Son Tung) over and over again, contributing to creating huge records in terms of views on the charts.

The second thing is the scandal. According to many comments, “Lac troi” is not an excellent song in terms of music, it even lags behind other compositions such as “Chung ta khong thuc ve nhau”, “Chac ai do se ve”… The song also does not have a catchy chorus or create messages that are typical of Son Tung. To compensate, the MV is built with a rather unique image.

This is the first time fans have seen Son Tung with long platinum hair, ancient costumes, combined with turtlenecks and… sneakers. The unique combination of classic and modern makes the MV strange, attracting fans as well as hitting the curiosity of the audience. The MV also has beautiful, colorful, epic, romantic scenes filmed at the famous Linh Quy Phap An pagoda in Da Lat (Lam Dong).

Besides the visuals, “Lac troi” has a clear story and message about a king who is at the peak of power, owns everything but feels lonely and lost in the majestic, vast palace. Deep inside, he is very emotional.

After watching the MV, an audience commented: “Watching the MV for the first time, I thought ‘Oh, Son Tung released a new MV’. The second time was also interesting, it sounded strange. The third time, I thought ‘oh, this is pretty good’. And the fourth time, I had to exclaim ‘so good’” - showing Son Tung’s strange appeal even to non-fans.

Despite many controversies, it cannot be denied that Son Tung's MVs have their own entertainment and appeal, bearing a strong personal mark that not every Vietnamese artist can do. Therefore, Son Tung's MVs still increase in views every day, every hour and create "huge" records that are difficult to surpass.
