(Baonghean.vn) - Although many V.League teams, including SLNA, contacted former striker Amido Balde, who used to play for Celtic, decided to reject all of them to return to Portugal.

Striker Amido Balde, born in 1991, is a former Portuguese U20 player and Guinea Bissau player. He has played for many famous teams such as Sporting CP, Celtic, and Metz (France).

At the beginning of the 2020 V.League season, this player, along with Pape Diakite and Seo Yong-duk, played quite impressively for Ho Chi Minh City Club. Despite scoring 3 goals in 9 matches, Amido Balde was still not retained by this team.

After coach Chung Hae-seong's team brought in two new players Jose Ortiz and Ariel Rodriguez, Balde's future was decided. Many teams in V.League, including SLNA, wanted to recruit him on loan but were unsuccessful.

One of the reasons why Amido Balde returned to Portugal was because in the context of V.League 2020 being temporarily suspended with no return date set, the transfer market was also temporarily closed.

In another development, foreign player Michael Olaha, after terminating his contract with his old team Hapoel Tel Aviv, intended to return to V.League to play for SLNA, but because he could not return to Vietnam, the Nigerian player signed a contract with another team in Israel, Hapoel Kfar Shalem, for a term of 10 months.

Failing to find new players, SLNA was forced to retain foreign player Philippe Martins for the rest of the season because there was no source of foreign players in the country. The Brazilian striker has only played 1 match for the Nghe An team against Than Quang Ninh in round 11.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and VPF will issue official dispatches to provide specific instructions to teams during the remaining 10 transfer days in phase 2. If the Covid-19 epidemic is controlled, it is likely that V.League 2020 will restart in mid-September 2020.
