With U21 Song Lam Nghe An, the unfortunate incident in 2022 caused the Nghe team to miss the 6th championship to equal the championship record with Hanoi Club. Therefore, in 2023, the Nghe team has high expectations because the U21 tournament is a tournament that plays a very important role in evaluating youth training, a launching pad for players to play professionally.
According to the expected number of players of U21 Song Lam Nghe An this year, not only are there factors selected from the U17 and U19 teams, but there are also a series of players who have been promoted to Team 1 to try their hand. Specifically, they are goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet (2002), Dinh Xuan Tien, Nguyen Van Bach, Phan Xuan Dai, Ho Van Cuong (2003), Tran Nam Hai (2004).

The above names have all been tested in the V.League and can be considered pillars of the U21 team.Lam River Nghe Anin the upcoming tournament. In addition, at the U19 age group, Song Lam Nghe An also has quality players such as goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, center back Le Nguyen Hoang born in 2005, who are fully capable of playing with their seniors.
In the coming time, the Vietnam U20 team will gather and prepare for the Southeast Asian U22 tournaments (from August 15-27); Asian Games (from September 23 - October 4); Asian U23 Qualifiers (from August 28 - September 12). Among the 7 players mentioned above, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet, Dinh Xuan Tien, Tran Nam Hai, Ho Van Cuong, Cao Van Binh and Le Nguyen Hoang are all faces that have caught the attention of coach Troussier and coach Hoang Anh Tuan. In particular, Nam Hai, Van Cuong, Nguyen Hoang, Cao Van Binh have just worn the Vietnam U20 shirt at the 2023 Asian U20 Finals.
Looking at these faces, Nghe An fans have the right to expect a tournament where young players of Song Lam Nghe An will have more opportunities to perform and compete to assert their abilities as well as bring more achievements to the home team. At the age of 18-20, players need to compete a lot to accumulate experience and perfect their skills, preparing a good foundation for the professional playing field.
However, according to the latest announcement of the Vietnam Football Federation and the Organizing Committee of the National U21 Tournament: Teams are not allowed to register players to be called up to the National youth teams such as U20, U23 to participate in the National U21 Tournament in 2023. This is causing U21 Song Lam Nghe An and the players themselves to worry, which is the high possibility of not being able to register to participate in the U21 Tournament because of the order to concentrate the National Team.

Being called up to the Vietnam U20 or Vietnam U23 Team is an honor for any player and any domestic club. However, in the case that players are called up to the training camp but are not retained due to competition in the national team, they will no longer be able to return to play for the U21 team due to the above regulations.
This could affect the competition opportunities of young players, as well as disrupt the preparation plan for this tournament and be passive in terms of force. And Song Lam Nghe An, Viettel or Hanoi Club are clubs with good U21 factors that are easily affected.
According to research, the 2023 National U21 Tournament is expected to be held in two localities: Nghe An and Thanh Hoa. Currently, the U21 Song Lam Nghe An team has gathered and practiced, preparing for the tournament, but will certainly face many difficulties and disruptions.
