In the qualifying round of the National U21 Championship in Group A, U21 SLNA won 3-0 against FLC Thanh Hoa and drew against Viettel. That result made U21 SLNA and U21 Hanoi have the same 4 points and the final match taking place this afternoon is considered the "final" match to decide the top team and win a direct ticket to the final round.

The match considered the final of Group A took place with great drama and excitement between two teams that have won many times in the history of the tournament.

Striker Phan Van Duc was the one who put U21 SLNA ahead with a corner kick. Not long after, Nguyen Van Duc fired a beautiful long-range shot to put U21 SLNA ahead 2-0.

As the defending champions, U21 Hanoi was not easily bullied and managed to equalize from a successful penalty kick. The two teams entered the break with a score of 2-1 in favor of the Nghe An team.

Thus, the 8 names participating in the 2017 National U21 Finals have been determined, including: SLNA, Viettel (Group A), Hue (Group B), PVF, HAGL (Group C), Dong Thap, An Giang (Group D) and host Binh Duong.

The finals are expected to take place next November at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong).
