Song Lam Nghe An lost their 8th match in V.League 2021

With Igor Jelic's injury, SLNA took the field with a lineup including goalkeeper Van Hoang, defenders Dinh Dong, The Nhat, Ba Sang, Xuan Manh. Midfielders Phan Van Duc, Sy Sam, Van Duc, Peter Samuel and the highest playing duo Bruno Henrique, Filipe Martins.

Thanh Hoa FC played better and controlled the ball more in the first minutes of the match. SLNA had the first chance from Phan Van Duc's control and shot in the 4th minute. However, the shot did not trouble goalkeeper Thanh Diep.

The home team had 4 shots in this half, most notably Trinh Van Loi's high-level attacks, but all were unsuccessful.

Before the first half ended, both teams had to make mandatory substitutions. SLNA sent Dinh Chau in for Nguyen Van Duc and the two teams entered the break without any goals scored.

In the second half, SLNA still played quite stalemately despite sending Xuan Thang and Manh Quynh onto the field. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa decided to send their main striker Dinh Tung onto the field to strengthen their attack.

Despite many attacks without scoring, SLNA's defense regretfully conceded a goal. In the 57th minute, in a combination between two foreign players of the Thanh team, the ball hit Gramoz's head before Pinto had a close-range shot that defeated goalkeeper Van Hoang.

In the following minutes, SLNA went all out to attack. However, facing a well-organized and dense defense of Thanh Hoa, Phan Van Duc and his teammates could not create anything really different to Thanh Diep's goal. If they were luckier, Thanh Hoa could have scored more goals to widen the gap.

In the end, SLNA lost 0-1 to Thanh Hoa. This was the 8th loss this season and continued to extend their disappointing streak with 6 matches without scoring, earning 10 points, at the bottom of V.League 2021. Meanwhile, the home team climbed to 5th place with 17 points.
