There are still nearly 20 days until the April 30 and May 1 holidays, but many bus and train companies say they are out of tickets.

On April 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, director of Saigon station, said that to serve the April 30 and May 1 holidays, Saigon station has added 16 trains, 500 more seats than the same period in 2013. However, up to now, the routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, Quy Nhon,... and vice versa only have a few dozen seats left.

Phuong Trang bus company also said that by the morning of April 12, the company's reservation hotline announced that the Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang route was almost full, especially on April 29 and 30. Shorter routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat also had many people booking in advance. Due to the hot ticket situation, the representative of this bus company said that they will increase the number of buses on some crowded routes.

Meanwhile, according to the forecast of the Eastern Bus Station, the number of passengers traveling during this year's holiday will reach about 41,000 passengers on the peak day, focusing mainly on short-medium distance routes. Many routes to the Central region are proposing a 40% surcharge to cover the cost of empty buses. Currently, this bus station has coordinated with transport units to mobilize additional vehicles if the number of passengers suddenly increases.

Mien Tay Bus Station estimates that the number of passengers traveling during the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year is likely to reach about 43,000, an increase of more than 16,000 passengers compared to normal days.
