Division 324 is proactive in disaster prevention and search and rescue.

The conference was attended by 120 comrades including leaders and commanders of the Division, 3 Infantry Regiments, affiliated battalions, heads of 4 agencies, heads of departments, branches and assistant staff of battalions.

According to the report, Division 324 is the main unit with sufficient troops, performing training, combat readiness, natural disaster prevention, storm and flood prevention, forest fire fighting, search and rescue. The unit regularly does a good job of thoroughly disseminating to all officers and soldiers the instructions and guidance of superiors on natural disaster prevention, search and rescue tasks, considering this a combat mission in peacetime.

Over the past 5 years, Division 324 has coordinated with the Party Committees, authorities and people of 3 provinces (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) to participate in 15 forest fire fighting campaigns, with 2,575 comrades participating, extinguishing 91.5 hectares of forests of all kinds; participating in overcoming the consequences of floods in 10 campaigns, with 1,022 comrades, helping people harvest hundreds of tons of crops; repairing hundreds of works of all kinds...

In addition, the unit also gave gifts to families with meritorious services and poor families; cleaned up village roads and hamlets; collected trees and garbage; coordinated with local authorities and people to dredge the canal system and clear areas prone to fire and explosion.
