Division 324: Opening ceremony of the sports festival to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the tradition of the military region's armed forces

(Baonghean.vn) - To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 70th anniversary of the Military Region's Armed Forces' tradition day (October 15, 1945 - October 15, 2015), on the morning of July 20, Division 324 (Military Region 4) opened the 2015 Sports Festival.

This year's sports festival has 229 athletes from 8 competing delegations including: Teams of 3 infantry regiments and 5 affiliated battalions. The athletes compete in the following events: men's and women's volleyball, tennis, hand-to-hand combat and badminton. The sports festival takes place from July 20 to July 23.

The organizers presented souvenir flags to the participating teams.

Immediately after the opening ceremony was the hand-to-hand combat event.

This sports festival aims to evaluate the quality of physical training and sports of agencies and units and promote the sports movement of the entire Division, widely and enthusiastically, enhancing the development of physical qualities for soldiers to meet the requirements of training and combat readiness tasks in the new situation. At the same time, select athletes to form a team to participate in the upcoming Military Region-level sports festival.

After the opening ceremony, badminton and hand-to-hand combat competitions took place.
